2013 Coles Junior Landcare School Garden Grant now openJunior Landcare

Coles are providing School Garden Grants of up to $1,000 to schools and youth groups to help create gardens in their grounds or community, such as bush tucker gardens, water wise gardens or veggie gardens. Read more

Working together: cross property planning for biodiversity conservation

In a 5 year project, supported by the NSW Environmental Trust, Murrumbidgee Landcare is working with cross property planning groups in the Junee/Illabo, Humula/Tarcutta and Kyeamba districts to improve biodiversity conservation. Training and planning support, field days and funds for on-ground works and weed control are available for participating farmers.

Grants between $5000 to $50 000 (GST exclusive) are available to help local community-based organisations and groups take on-ground action as well as build their capacity and skills to manage their natural environment and productive lands.

Australian Flora Foundation Research GrantsAustralia Flora Foundation

Applications for grants to support original scientific projects on the biology and cultivation of Australian plants are invited from research workers in Australia.

Grants are available for projects which commence from December 2013. The Foundation expects to support between two and four projects at $5000 - $12,000 each in 2014 with possible extension into 2015. Read more



Landcare Support Officer - position vacant

Murrumbidgee Landcare Inc (MLi) seeks to employ a Landcare Support Officer. The position is based in Wagga Wagga, with flexible hours to 22.5 hours per week up to the 31st December 2013. Read more


Murrumbidgee Landcare Annual Forum

In the 1980s Phillip was the Director of the Australian Conservation Foundation. He teamed up with Rick Farley from the National Farmers Federation. Together they had a vision and the National Landcare program was born.

Launch of K2C Glossy Black-Cockatoo projectGlossy Black Cockatoo

Queanbeyan Landcare has organised a launch of the K2C project that aims to provide increased food sources for the vulnerable Glossy Black-cockatoo in the region.

The launch will be held at 11.00 am on 4 March in the RB Smith Community Centre, 262 Crawford St, Queanbeyan, opposite the Queanbeyan City Council Chambers. Read more

Plant identification for grassy ecosystems

This two day workshop run by the Australian Network for Plant Conservation will introduce participants to grassy ecosystems, their diversity, ecology and provide the skills and information required to positively identify a range of common grassland plants. Read more

Breadalbane Plains Landcare Group Inc. supported by Upper Lachlan Landcare Inc. is holding a one day workshop with internationally acclaimed watershed restoration and erosion control expert Craig Sponholtz of Dryland Solutions.

Soil carbon workshop in Wagga Wagga

Put on by the NSW Department of Primary Industries and Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority this one one-day soil carbon workshop will provide an update on the  latest information on carbon from a local, state, national perspective.

 A number of projects are underway across the catchment with community groups working together to restore cockatoo habitat, conduct surveys, construct and install nest boxes and fence and protect feeding sites.

Greening Australia 2012 Revegetation guides

At the National Landcare Conference this year, Dr David Suzuki gave an inspirational talk to the audience, via live video feed. Dr Suzuki's speech, along with videos of the plenary sessions held throughout the conference are now available to view online.
